what's the story, wishbone

Look what came in the mail yesterday!  I ordered it on Etsy from the Petitor shop.  It came in this lovely doily packaging, which I love since our whole wedding was pretty much doily-ed out!  This wishbone necklace was made popular by Jennifer Aniston when she wore it in the movie, "He's Just Not That Into You."  The original retailed for $700.  I got my version at a discount on Cyber Monday for $23!

It's small enough to layer with another necklace, or can be worn by itself.  I've started a collection of everyday necklaces with simple pendants like this one, and most of them were purchased on Etsy.  I love wearing necklaces, and I like to keep it simple for work.  This is a perfect statement piece and easy to match with any outfit.  Hopefully it brings me good luck too!

weekend wrap-up via instagram

I was off on Friday, so I went to pick up our new accent chairs, only to find out that they were too big!  While there, I saw a leather chair with two mannequins in the back of a truck.  What a weird way to advertise, but I guess it got my attention!

I found a tick on Bailey Friday night, and we were freaking out!  She must have caught it when we were walking in the woods last weekend.  Paul was able to remove it, but we felt gross for the rest of the weekend.

For the second year in a row, us UTD Alumns were invited to perform with the current UTD Power Dancers at their Pep Rally.  It was fun, and we got to perform at the Men's Basketball game on Saturday too.  It's amazing how much bigger the school has gotten since we graduated.  And it was great to relive our dancing days again and catch up with old friends.

(PS.  Is it just me, or does that picture of the gym remind you of Britney Spears'  "(Hit Me) Baby One More Time" music video? ....oh baby, baby!)

On Saturday, Karina and I went to the Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash.  We went to their Spring Bash and had a blast!  This event features local artists/designers/crafters who sell their handmade pieces on Etsy.  This is a good way to see pieces in person before buying it, and you don't have to pay shipping and handling.  They had a DJ spinning music all day, two full bars, and a photo booth (you bet, we were all over it!).  They have a crafts area for kids and adults too.  I came out with two art pieces, a pair of earrings, a necklace, a ring, and a bib (it's a Christmas present-calm down).  The next Spring Bash is already scheduled for May 5, 2012.  Karina and I are determined to get there early next time so we can be one of the first 50 people to get a free Bash Goody Bag.

Our new rug and accent chairs were both delivered on Saturday.  Can't wait to show them to you!

Saturday night, we went to a 'Stache Party.  We got a little into it.  Such a fun idea!

Phew, what a weekend!  Just two work days for me this week then I'm off for the long weekend!  I've got my grocery list complete for our feast.  Are you ready for Turkey Day?
